Latest Duke of Edinburgh Expedition
Twenty students completed their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh expedition on 15th and 16th July and they were brilliant! Starting at Calton Lees car park near Chatsworth the students walked to the campsite at Lower Greenfields. Upon arrival they pitched camp and set about cooking their own meals, after which they had a competitive game of rounders.
After a good night's sleep the students prepared breakfast, packed away their tents and set out on the hike to Bonsall, completing around 22km in total over the weekend.
Three different groups of students had different aims for their expedition alongside looking after themselves and each other: a video montage of people, places and animals; photographing landmarks and points of interests and; a video diary of scenery and points of interests. These will be showcased at a presentation evening with parents.
The weather was kind, the students were great and we thank all the staff who gave up their time to make it all happen.
